Welcome to Promised Land Ministries and Community Chapel
Our ministry is supported entirely by gift donations, tithes and offerings. Our only fundraiser is the sale of books that I have written and published and the bonnets I make. Writing as Sophie Baker, my pen name, I now have three books ready for sale. Our books can be ordered through this website or through any on-line book retailer such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or from our publisher, WestBow Press. We primarily rely on Jesus-Followers, like you, that God has called to support this ministry with their gifts. We thank those who have given gifts to our ministry in the past and pray that each of you will plan to regularly support Promised Land Ministries with a portion of your monthly tithe.
Our ministry provides a small chapel, Promised Land Community Chapel, in the Ozark Mountains of Fordland, MO, for weddings and worship. While it is family-prairie style worship, everyone is welcome and invited. Our chapel has recently undergone a slight makeover and sprucing up, and we always welcome visitors both to visit or to stay a while.
Weddings are a large part of this ministry, both at our chapel and at the venue of choice, and we provide the bridal couple assistance in planning their big event as well as unlimited counseling as needed before and after their marriage, at no additional cost!
Our ministry also supports the international mission of Heifer International which provides animals to those in countries of need, and has a very active prison ministry, providing Bibles to the inmates of prisons in Missouri and several other states who seek our ministry.
We have now opened our Bed and Breakfast and Spiritual Retreat. We are excited about sharing our home with travelers and newlyweds, or just family and friends who pass our way. We have four themed bedrooms located on our main floor and a shared kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom. Cozy comfy cabins are also being added for guests who want a more secluded stay. A light breakfast is served to our B&B guests, and all meals will be provided to our Spiritual Retreat guests. Special rates are offered for your Spiritual Retreat and the chapel is available for your unlimited use. In the chapel we have a small library for your use as well as the Sophie Baker Books and Bonnets store.
There are an endless number of ongoing projects here and we offer a free stay for anyone wanting to come and take part in the many opportunities to serve.
